Smith Votes for Keystone XL Approval

Congressman Adrian Smith (R-NE) today voted in favor of H.R. 5682 to authorize the construction, connection, operation, and maintenance of the Keystone XL pipeline.

"Approval of the Keystone XL pipeline has been languishing on the President's desk for more than six years," said Congressman Smith. "Nebraskans overwhelmingly support this project which would encourage American energy, create thousands of jobs, and according to the President's own State Department would not have a significant environmental impact.

"It is past time to get this done. I hope the Democratic leadership in the Senate will finally stop blocking this legislation and force the President to make a decision on this needed project."
