Honor and Remember

Statement

Date: Nov. 11, 2014
Issues: Veterans

Dear Friend,

November 11, 1918 is the day when the Allies of the United States and our enemies signed an armistice agreement to end World War I. Since that day, we have observed November 11th as a day of remembrance for the service and sacrifice made by the men and women of the United States Armed Forces.

Without the blood, sweat, tears, and sacrifice of these brave individuals, we would not have the freedom, liberty, and prosperity that we enjoy here at home.

World War I may have begun a century ago, but our world is just as hostile and violent towards us as it was a hundred years ago. It is an unfortunate reality, but our democracy will always be under attack from those who wish to destroy freedom and liberty. As a result, it has always been and it will continue to be up to our servicemen and women to defend our nation at home and abroad.

So today, please say a prayer to honor the service of all Veterans of the United States Armed Forces. I would also ask that you join Gina and me as we lend a helping hand of support to our Veterans. Whether it is through charitable work with organizations, such as Fisher House, or by volunteering your time, you can visit www.volunteer.va.gov to help today.

God Bless America, our Troops, and our Veterans!

With Great Respect,
Bill Flores
