Location: Issaquah, WA

Congressman Dave Reichert released the following statement in response to the midterm election results.

"Last night was a big victory for our country. The American people spoke up and made their voice heard. They are ready for change in Washington, D.C. and I am humbled and honored that the people of the 8th District have placed their confidence in me once more.

With their support, I am able to continue my work to enact responsible legislation that will secure and improve our country for future generations. I will continue my work promoting free trade agreements, reforming our outdated tax code, protecting our natural heritage, preventing sex trafficking, ensuring our children receive a quality education, and providing real healthcare choices.

With a Republican majority now in both chambers of Congress, we can begin moving jobs bills that have been stuck in the Senate. The President will be forced to either sign or veto legislation that would move this nation forward.

Together we can ensure America's bright future and provide a legacy of success for our children and grandchildren."

Congressman Reichert has proudly served the Eighth District of Washington since 2005. The Eighth District includes portions of King and Pierce Counties as well as Chelan, Kittitas, and Douglas Counties in Central Washington.
