Dr. Mariannette Miller-Meeks released the following statement after tonight's election results in Iowa's Second Congressional District:
"I am so grateful for all my family, friends, and supporters who have been with me, side-by-side, during this entire journey. While our campaign did not come out on top in this election, I wish Congressman Dave Loebsack and his staff the very best as they continue working on behalf of the people of Iowa.
"We are going through difficult times now with a sluggish national economy and a dysfunctional federal government, but I know that our state and nation will make it through. Our best days are ahead of us because Iowans work together and Americans never give up."
