Today Congressman Bill Owens announced that $85,000 in grant funding has been awarded to Adirondack Medical Center, a member of Adirondack Health, by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. This funding will support efforts by Adirondack Health to address the changing health needs of the senior population in the region.

"As we look to address the needs of our growing senior population, healthcare facilities and services in our area will need to adapt," said Owens. "This grant funding will help Adirondack Medical Center respond to this shifting demand, improving access to supportive care services like assisted living, home care, and short-term rehabilitation. I applaud HHS and Adirondack Health for recognizing and responding to this need in our community."

"The Blue Line Group has been making measurable progress in meeting its goal to protect the viability of long term care services in the Adirondack region," said Marc J. Walker, Blue Line Group spokesperson and Chief Senior Services Officer for Adirondack Health. "This rural health network development grant will help the group pursue the infrastructure to generate the strategies and actions needed to meet the changing healthcare needs of our region. We are deeply grateful to Congressman Owens for his advocacy on behalf of all healthcare providers in the Adirondack region."
