Keating Statement on Missing Afghan Soldiers

Today, Rep. Bill Keating issued a statement on the three Afghan military officers reported missing from Joint Base Cape Cod:

"Our office has been in direct contact with officials at the Massachusetts National Guard, the Department of Defense, and the Federal Bureau of Investigation, and is continuing to monitor the situation very closely. Even though federal and state officials have emphasized that the missing Afghan military officers pose no threat, I have made it clear in direct conversations with officials that I believe the residents of this community must have both timely and accurate information regarding any unusual situations such as these. Further, I have been told that progress is being made in the search for these officers, and expect that any new developments will be shared with the community as soon as they become available."
