Rooney Responds to Obama Speech on ISIS

Statement

U.S. Representative Tom Rooney (FL-17) issued the following statement on President Obama's speech on ISIS:

"Although I agree with the President that ISIS is a threat that needs to be destroyed, I do not agree that we should handcuff our strategy or success. We should do everything we need to do to win, and that means not taking options off the table.

"Last month, the President said that relying on Syrian rebels to support air strikes would be fantasy. So what has changed? If we are charged with the responsibility to keep our nation safe, and if we agree that ISIS is a threat to our national security, then we must destroy them. Period. We must be resolute by all means necessary to do so."
