Voting regardless of race or gender is a cherished and hard fought constitutional right of American citizens, 18 and older. Every North Carolinian should exercise the right to vote in every election. Do not let anyone restrict that right.

Having spent a lot of time with Democratic candidates up and down the ballot, I have deep respect for a dazzling array of people ready and willing to serve North Carolinians. This is not just another midterm election, it is a referendum on moving our state forward once again through statewide, General Assembly and county races. It is also about a path toward keeping and adding fair and balanced judges and getting Congress working for us again. We have run the numbers and if all Democrats commit to voting like our lives depend on it, whether by absentee ballot, early voting or on Election Day, we will win up and down the ballot. Our win will be a victory for North Carolinians.

We cannot go it alone. I have been heartened by the number of unaffiliated and moderate Republicans that pledged to vote Cleary for Congress.

For your own complete sample ballot of all candidates, go to https://www.ncsbe.gov/webapps/voter_search/ , enter the required information, click on your voter record toward the bottom of the search results page and then finally click on sample ballot for the NC 11/4/14 General.

The deadline to register to vote or update your voter registration with a change of name or address is October 10th. for Even if the new voter law isn't overturned before the election, remember that there is no photo ID requirement to vote this year. That becomes effective January 1, 2016.

Counting on Cleary to help inform and empower voters. Yes this is a midterm election, but the stakes are extremely high. Think of this midterm as midcourse correction of the lack of voter turnout in the last midterm election in 2010. Please do not sit the 2104 General Election out.
