Press Release

Date: Sept. 2, 2014
Location: Washington, DC

Today, Representative Mark Sanford was named a "Guardian of Small Business" by the National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB), an organization monitoring member's voting records when it comes to tax, regulation, and other small business issues. The NFIB represents 450 small businesses in the First Congressional district.

"I've long believed that small businesses and the people who own and work are the real life blood of economic development and activity," said Sanford. "In this vein, I look forward to continuing work in Congress alongside groups like NFIB who work to be an advocate in Washington for businesses like Marietti Fencing in Charleston, Express Paint Systems in Summerville, and Gay Fish Co. in St. Helena."

The National Federation of Independent Business's Guardian of Small Business award is given annually to Members of Congress based on their voting record when it comes to tax, regulation, and other small business issues.
