Overlooking the Mel Price Lock and Dam at the National Great Rivers Research and Education Center in East Alton, U.S. Rep. Rodney Davis (R-Ill.) today received the endorsement of the International Union of Painters & Allied Trades (IUPAT) for his re-election to Congress.

"The help and support from the International Union of Painters & Allied Trades was essential to getting WRRDA, the water infrastructure bill, across the finish line in Congress this year," said Davis. "So I'm proud to call IUPAT and their members friends and to receive their endorsement today. I look forward to working with them in my next term to put even more Americans back to work through the passage of a long-term transportation bill."

"Putting America back to work needs to be the top priority of Capitol Hill," said Gregg Smith, Business Manager of IUPAT District Council 58. "Congressman Davis' visit to this project today to see first-hand how infrastructure investment can create jobs proves to us that he's prepared to take our fight for more work and fair wages to Washington. The men and women of the IUPAT stand ready to do our part to make certain he's elected for working families this Election Day."

The International Union of Painters & Allied Trades (IUPAT) represents a growing force of over 100,000 active and retired men and women. Their members work in the Finishing Trades as industrial and commercial painters, drywall finishers, wall coverers, glaziers, glass workers, floor covering installers, sign makers, display workers, convention and show decorators and in many more occupations. IUPAT members' skills are in high demand at every construction project in North America.

Rep. Davis is a part of the No Labels Problem Solvers and has been named to the "Governing Caucus", a coalition of 30 House Republicans willing to join a majority of House Democrats to pass major legislation, by the National Journal. Additionally, in the National Journal's 2013 Vote Ratings, Davis was ranked the 220th most liberal and the 212th most conservative House member.
