Scott Brown: Senate Needs to Immediately Address Threat of "Dirty Dozen" American ISIS Fighters

Tonight, Scott Brown issued the following statement after FBI Director James Comey said on 60 Minutes that 12 American citizens known to be fighting with ISIS are "entitled" to come home "unless their passports are revoked":

"Tonight's 60 Minutes report was chilling. These dirty dozen American ISIS fighters pose an immediate and grave threat to the safety of our homeland, and they need to be stopped. Once you take up arms against us and side with the terrorists, you lose your right to call yourself an American citizen and your passport should be cancelled. We need decisive action right now, not more political games from Senator Shaheen and her fellow Washington politicians. The Senate needs to immediately reconvene and pass the Expatriate Terrorist Act of 2014 so President Obama can sign it into law. The safety and security of the American people and our country demands it."

For more than four years, Brown has been an outspoken proponent of the need to stop homegrown terrorism. He introduced similar legislation to the current Cruz effort in both 2010 and 2011, and two weeks ago, called Senate Democrats' failure to act on it "disgraceful," and charged Shaheen with "silently acquiescing."
