News: Ross Launches Statewide 'Jobs First' Tour

Press Release

Date: Sept. 29, 2014
Location: Little Rock, AR

Former small business owner and Democratic nominee for governor Mike Ross today launched a statewide "Jobs First" tour to travel the state to talk about his plans to strengthen education, cut taxes for working families and small businesses and create more and better-paying jobs in Arkansas.

"Our campaign has always been about our values and our future and about building a stronger, more prosperous Arkansas so that every Arkansan has an opportunity to work hard and provide for themselves and their family," said Ross. "Today I'm launching my "Jobs First' statewide tour to spend the remaining five weeks of the campaign traveling the state, talking with voters, listening to their concerns and sharing my positive vision for Arkansas's future. My comprehensive job creation plan and statewide tour is called "Jobs First' because, as governor, I will bring both parties together to strengthen education, cut taxes for working families and small businesses and reduce government regulations - all to put jobs first in Arkansas."

Ross said he will travel the state to visit small businesses, manufacturers, education institutions and other locations across Arkansas that are key to the state's job creation efforts.

"From agriculture to manufacturing and from education, tourism and health care, there are so many important aspects to job creation in Arkansas, and I'm going to spend the next five weeks traveling the state, listening to the concerns of working families and job creators and discussing my plans to create more and better-paying jobs in Arkansas," said Ross. "I'll be a governor for all of Arkansas, and I'm going to work day and night to be this state's biggest economic ambassador by rolling out the welcome mat and telling the world that Arkansas is open for business."

Ross announced the first two days of his schedule in Beebe, Jonesboro, Fort Smith, Siloam Springs and Bella Vista. Over the next week, he will be visiting Fayetteville, Springdale, Berryville, Conway, White Hall, Pine Bluff, Hot Springs and Sheridan. His full schedule will be posted and available at MikeRoss.com.
