Republican candidate for U.S. Senate, David Perdue, has received the endorsement of the National Rifle Association. The NRA, established in 1871, represents more than five million members nationwide and is America's foremost defender of Second Amendment rights.

In response to the endorsement, David Perdue, said, "I am honored to receive the support of the NRA and its members across the state of Georgia. As a lifelong hunter and sportsman, I know the Second Amendment is not only about hunting. It is about our right to protect our family, our property, and even our country if necessary. As Georgia's next U.S. Senator, I will fight to protect our Second Amendment right and constitutional freedoms."

Chairman of the NRA, Chris W. Cox, added, "As a son of Middle Georgia who grew up hunting with family and friends, David understands that our Second Amendment transcends hunting. David recognizes that the Second Amendment is a fundamental, individual constitutional right. He has stated his commitment to defending it from elitist gun control advocates like President Obama and Mike Bloomberg. We can count on David Perdue to stand up for our constitutional freedoms in the U.S. Senate. The NRA encourages all gun owners and sportsmen in Georgia to vote David Perdue for U.S. Senate on November 4."
