Cartwright Visits Praxair Facility in Stockertown, Promotes the Benefits of Manufacturing for Middle-Class Americans

Press Release

Today U.S. Representative Matt Cartwright toured Praxair's Stockertown, Northampton County facility, where he met with several employees, including plant manager Mike Saltarelli, to discuss the economic impact of the company within the 17th Congressional District.

Praxair produces, sells, and distributes industrial gases and high-performance surface coatings. It is the largest industrial gas company in North America.

"It was great to meet and speak to the hard-working Praxair employees in Stockertown today about the importance of the company to the local economy," said Rep. Cartwright, a member of the House Manufacturing Caucus, a bipartisan group whose mission is to enhance the productivity and competitiveness of American manufacturing. "Praxair's innovative practices and services help advance science, technology, and commerce while providing middle-class Americans with needed skilled jobs. I'm committed to working with them and similar companies to promote manufacturing job growth within the district. Manufacturing delivers a greater return in investment that any other sector of the market and is a vital party of the American economy."

"Congressman Cartwright is a strong supporter of economic growth in this region and he understands the issues that matter to us," said Mike Saltarelli, Praxair plant manager. "We are pleased to have had the opportunity to talk to the Congressman about Praxair's focus on driving economic, environmental and social benefits both locally and globally."
