Location: Lexington, KY

Democratic Congressional candidate Elisabeth Jensen will address the Lexington Rotary today at noon and release the Jensen Jobs Plan. It will be available for download on her website and Facebook page.

"The basic principle behind the plan is straightforward," Jensen said. "To get the economy moving, we need to get more money into the hands of hardworking Kentucky families."

Among the plans many specific proposals the Jensen Jobs Plan calls for:

Raising the minimum wage $10.10 per hour phased in over three years.

Paying women the same as men by passing the Paycheck Fairness Act.

Increasing wages at all levels through improved education and jobs skills training for higher paying technology, manufacturing and service sector jobs.

Helping families by making college more affordable and lowering interest rates on crippling student loan debt

Investing in bridges, schools, the energy grid, and data networks.

Closing tax loopholes so the wealthy and big corporations pay their fair share.

Address the long-term deficit by growing the economy.

Preserve and strengthen needed programs like Head Start, Social Security and Medicare
"The Jensen Jobs Plan is a comprehensive set of common sense measures we can take right now to get the Kentucky economy going, create more jobs, and increase wages, Elisabeth Jensen said.
