Energy Independence

The rising cost of energy hurts businesses, employees, and Florida's families. I am committed to supporting policies that will lower energy and gasoline costs, reduce our dependence on foreign oil, and strengthen the American economy.

As America's need for energy grows, it's important we take a pro-active approach that focuses on innovation and long-term solutions to our mounting energy crisis. I am convinced that a long-term comprehensive solution that incorporates commonsense and free-market oriented reforms will lead us out of this crisis and place us on the road to energy independence. This path must include the Keystone XL pipeline -- a project that has my strong support.

Here's my four-point plan to lower energy costs; increase environmentally-sound American exploration of oil and gas; increase the supply of domestic energy; encourage research in advanced alternative and renewable energy technologies; and improve conservation and energy efficiency.
