LoBiondo Announces USDA Funding to Assist First Responders for 3 South Jersey Communities

U.S. Representative Frank A. LoBiondo (NJ-02) today announced three federal grants from the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA)'s Rural Development office to three communities across South Jersey.

"USDA has been a great partner with many communities in South Jersey throughout the years to upgrade public infrastructure and services. Today's announcement is proof of the positive results that can be achieved," said LoBiondo. "This federal funding for our police and first responders will be very beneficial to the communities of Tuckerton, Downe Township and Newfield."

The following USDA grants and loans were awarded:

$37,500 in a federal grant to the Borough of Tuckerton towards the purchase of a replacement police vehicle for one damaged during Hurricane Sandy;

$34,000 in a federal grant to Downe Township Fire/Rescue Company Number 1 to purchase firefighting and rescue equipment; and,

$33,500 in a federal grant to the Borough of Newfield towards the purchase of two police vehicles.
