Congressman Bill Owens expressed strong support today for a U.S. International Trade Commission (ITC) decision to apply anti-dumping and countervailing duties on oil country tubular goods (OCTG) from South Korea, India, Turkey, Ukraine, Taiwan and Vietnam.

"This is a victory for U.S. steelworkers and the entire domestic steel industry," said Owens. "Enforcing the rules and stopping market manipulation by foreign competitors helps ensure that U.S. steel companies can compete on a level global playing field. These companies support tens of thousands of jobs in New York State and millions of jobs throughout the country and they deserve a chance to compete on equal footing in the global marketplace. I applaud the ITC for this decision."

Owens has previously called on the ITC to issue this decision including joining a bipartisan group of 150 Members of Congress who sent a letter to Commerce Secretary Penny Pritzker.
