I am opposed to "immigration reform." We have excellent immigration laws on the books. Let's use them!

We are a nation of immigrants. But, we must restore order to the immigration system.

We must seal our borders with Mexico and Canada as a matter of national security.

We must remove non-citizens who are here illegally, and place them at the back of the line for those who may apply for legal entry to this country. They have already shown a disregard for our laws and customs.

Non-citizens (even those who are here legally) must be permanently deported upon conviction for committing a felony in the United States.

Businesses should be held accountable, and stiff penalties imposed for employing illegal aliens. A new-hire reporting system is already in place to enable states to collect delinquent child support. This same system can be used to assure that all new workers are in compliance with immigration laws.

The United States should continue to welcome immigrants. However, those potential immigrants should properly apply for admission to the United States and should be sponsored by an American citizen who is willing to sign an "enforceable affidavit of support."

The "enforceable affidavit of support" assures that the sponsor will have a personal and financial stake in helping the newcomer to America become a productive member of our society.
