Titus Statement on VA Secretary's Visit to the Reno Regional Benefits Office

Date: Aug. 19, 2014
Location: Las Vegas, NV
Issues: Veterans

Congresswoman Dina Titus of Nevada's First District, a Member of the House of Representatives Committee on Veterans Affairs, released the following statement today on Secretary of the Department of Veterans Affairs Robert McDonald's visit to the Reno Regional Benefits Office:

"I have asked the Secretary to take a personal stake in improving the Reno Benefits Office and I am glad he is visiting the office to see firsthand what needs to be done to better serve veterans in Nevada. For far too long, the Reno Office has been one of the worst performing offices in the United States. This isn't fair to veterans in Nevada, and I have been pushing the VA to make the necessary changes to improve the office, including much needed changes in leadership. Our veterans deserve much better from this office; and I look forward to meeting with Secretary McDonald to hear his analysis of the Reno RO and what actions he will take to improve the office, including the prospect of relocating the office to Las Vegas, the home of the majority of veterans in Nevada."
