Hagan Comments as Legislation Honoring Forest Service Officer Jason Crisp Becomes Law

U.S. Senator Kay Hagan released the following statement today after the President signed into law a bill commemorating U.S. Forest Service Officer Jason Crisp. Officer Crisp and his K-9 partner, Maros, lost their lives in the line of duty in March. The bill the President signed passed the House and Senate earlier this year and designates a ranger station within the Grandfather Ranger District in North Carolina as the "Jason Crisp Forest Service Building."

"Officer Jason Crisp dedicated his life to serving his community and the people of North Carolina, and his bravery and sacrifice will not be forgotten," said Hagan. "The new Jason Crisp Building will serve as a lasting tribute to his service and a constant reminder of the brave men and women in law enforcement who, like him, put their safety at risk to protect our communities every day. My thoughts and prayers continue to be with Officer Crisp's wife, Amanda, his two sons Garett and Logan, and his family, who have endured a terrible loss."
