I support the complete elimination of Arkansas's sales tax on groceries.

Our ranchers and farmers compete not only locally, but in global market. I will introduce legislation to reduce the tax burden on family farms to support our current agricultural base and encourage young families to enter this vital industry. I will also offer legislation to eliminate the capital gains tax on the sale of livestock.

I support the elimination of the state sales tax on used vehicles. During these continuing bad economic times, the tax burden on our hardworking citizens should be reduced wherever possible. The state of Arkansas already receives sales tax revenue on the sale of all new vehicles. The elimination of the used car tax will allow Arkansas workers a consistent way to travel to their jobs and help Arkansas families keep dependable transportation in place.
