Location: Concord, NH
Issues: Transportation

Governor Maggie Hassan issued the following statement after today signing HB 2014, a measure relative to the state 10-year transportation improvement program:

"A solid, modern transportation infrastructure is the foundation for long-term economic growth, critical to the success of New Hampshire's people and businesses. The Ten Year Plan builds on the progress we began earlier this year by passing our bipartisan transportation funding bill, allowing for critical investments in our transportation infrastructure.

"Through the implementation of the Ten Year Plan, we will advance a number of important transportation improvement projects, including the completion of the Sarah Mildred Long Bridge project, the engineering phase of Route 106 to the New Hampshire Motor Speedway, the widening of I-93 and the widening of Route 101 through Bedford to the FE Everett Turnpike. We have taken important steps toward addressing our transportation needs this year, and I thank Representative Campbell, Senator Rausch and legislators from both parties for their efforts to strengthen our transportation infrastructure and keep our economy moving in the right direction."

Note*: Project completion is predicated on maintaining current levels of funding for surface transportation projects in the federal Highway Trust Fund.
