House Republican Conference Chair Cathy McMorris Rodgers (R-WA) applauded the passage today of H.R. 3230, the Veterans' Access to Care through Choice, Accountability, and Transparency Act of 2014, sponsored by House Committee on Veterans' Affairs Chairman Jeff Miller (R-FL).
"For too long our veterans have encountered obstacle after obstacle navigating the VA. Today, we are changing that -- we are passing legislation that will help veterans and make it easier for them to access quality, compassionate treatment and care. From enabling veterans to receive care from non-VA facilities to hiring new doctors and mental health professionals, we are taking steps to help our American heroes when they need it most. And by requiring independent assessments of VA medical care, we will continue to hold the VA accountable. I commend Chairman Miller for his commitment to seeing our veterans have an agency that puts their needs first."
