Rohrabacher: Putin Must Provide Full Information on Airliner Shootdown

Statement

On Thursday, Rep. Dana Rohrabacher issued the following statement:

"Today's downing of Malaysia Airlines flight 17 over Ukraine is an outrageous attack that resulted in the murder of nearly 300 civilians, including a reported 23 American citizens. My thoughts and prayers are with the families of the victims. Prayers, however, are not enough. Now is the time for truth.

"The Russian Federation, and President Putin especially, need immediately to explain what happened and who is responsible. Russia must also fully cooperate with any investigation. Russia must ensure that rebel groups in Eastern Ukraine do not remove evidence from the crash scene, including the black boxes, or prevent investigators from doing their job.

"Let us hope this deplorable loss of life in some way motivates those involved in this conflict to take a step back and find a peaceful way of resolving their differences."
