James Lee Witt, Democratic candidate for Congress, released the following statement after receiving the endorsement of the Arkansas State Firefighters Association.

"I am extremely grateful and honored to have received the support of the Arkansas State Firefighters Association," said Witt. "This endorsement means a great deal to me because these men and women are our friends and neighbors who selflessly put their lives on the line every day to help protect others."

"We, the Arkansas State Firefighters Association endorse and fully support James Lee Witt for the 4th Congressional District Seat," said Greg Gray, the State Firefighters' Association Legislative Chairman. "The Fire Service of Arkansas has known James Lee since the late "80's as the Arkansas Office of Emergency Management Director. He had the reputation of working with the First Responders of Arkansas in managing many Arkansas Disasters. He then left with President Bill Clinton to go to Washington to take over a government agency called FEMA that was mismanaged and not prepared for the next national disaster. In a short time through his experience running Arkansas OEM, he made FEMA an agency that was ready to respond to the next Natural Disaster and ready to serve the American People when they needed help the most. He had a reputation of working with both parties."

James Lee Witt has also been endorsed by the Arkansas Professional Firefighters.
