Final Phase: Debt is Our Burden NOW

Statement

Date: July 27, 2014

As we enter into the final phase of the campaign, the shift is made from distinguishing myself from other Republicans who were using the same "playbook," to showing how my solutions to today's problems are the direction in which America should go.

There are two important things to note. First, in 2008, people were saying the National Debt was going to become the burden of our grandchildren. The debt was over eight trillion dollars then.

Just six years later, with a debt of nearly eighteen trillion dollars, it has already fallen on the shoulders of our children! A recent survey has shown that nearly 20% of the people who were in the middle class last census (2010), now feel they have fallen out of the middle class. Young adults are moving in with their parents, they can't find a job in their chosen profession, medium income is declining, opportunity is disappearing and the American Dream is dying. All of this has happened in just six years with Lois Capps voting with Pelosi 97% of the time to further Obama's agenda!

The second thing to note is that, when Lois Capps took office for what was promised to be the first of two terms, the National Debt was just over five trillion dollars. Under her stewardship, it has grown to nearly eighteen trillion dollars. Her votes, her leadership, or lack thereof, have gotten us into this mess. They are a part of the problem and, as such, cannot be the solution. We cannot afford Lois Capps.

Choices must be made. Are we going to continue on this path of "a thousand years of darkness," or are we going to get government under control and cut spending, balance the budget, and cut restrictions so that there is, again, economic growth and freedom?

Are we going to be a free people and contain government within the limits of the Constitution, or are we going to allow it to continue to grow and tell US what liberties we can, and cannot, have?

To me, the answer is simple: being a constitutional Republic (the only one in the history of the world) has worked for over 200 years; it made us the richest, strongest, freest, most advanced, most progressive, most modern and most charitable nation the world has ever seen.

Let's return to what works. Let's restore America's promise!
