Statement

Date: July 23, 2014
Location: Washington, DC

U.S. Senator John McCain (R-AZ) released the following statement on today's Senate Subcommittee on National Parks hearing on his legislation to reauthorize the Yuma Crossing National Heritage Area.

"I'm pleased that the Senate Subcommittee on National Parks held a hearing today on my bill, S. 2111, to reauthorize the Yuma Crossing National Heritage Area. The Yuma Crossing National Heritage Area is a success story within the National Heritage Area system. It has a long track record of success in the preservation of the Yuma Territorial Prison and the Yuma East Wetlands restoration project, and has served as a central component of the city's downtown redevelopment initiative. I will continue to work with my colleagues in the Senate to advance this legislation."
