Statement

Date: July 23, 2014
Location: Washington, DC
Issues: Veterans

Representative Steve Daines joined the House to pass legislation that would improve the airport passenger screening process for veterans traveling on Honor Flights by saving them time and showing respect for their service.

The Honor Flight Act directs the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) to establish an "expedited and dignified" screening process for veterans who are traveling on Honor Flights to visit war memorials in Washington, D.C.

"As the son of a Marine, visiting with Montana veterans from the "Greatest Generation' who are traveling on Big Sky Honor Flights is a tremendous honor," Daines said. "We can thank and honor these brave veterans by improving their experience while they visit the memorials that are dedicated to their service and sacrifice."
