Issue Position: On the Second Amendment

Issue Position

I support every individuals' right to bear arms under the 2nd Amendment to the United States Constitution. It is not my intention to take away firearms from responsible gunowners. I do believe, however, that we must extend the practice of background checks and finding innovative solutions to keeping them out of the hands of convicted felons and the mentally ill. The "gun show loophole" should be closed and we should be able to ensure that only responsible individuals are in possession of potentially dangerous weapons.
