Neugebauer Supports Bill to Provide Tax Certainty for Job Creators

Statement

Date: July 11, 2014
Location: Washington, DC

Rep. Randy Neugebauer (R-TX), a senior member of the House Committee on Agriculture, and Chairman of the House Financial Services Subcommittee on Housing and Insurance, released the following statement after voting in favor of H.R. 4718, a bill to modify and make permanent 50% bonus depreciation for tax purposes to help grow the economy and create jobs:

"Short-term tax policy is bad for businesses and agriculture in West Texas and across America. To get our economy back on track, Washington needs to make it clear what policies will be around next year. I am proud to cosponsor and support today's bill that will make permanent the 50% bonus depreciation that gives our job creators the certainty they need to help grow the economy, create more higher-paying jobs, and invest for the future. This bill is especially important for farmers and ranchers in the 19th Congressional District of Texas who rely on this tax provision to expense large investments in machinery and other equipment. I will continue to fight for pro-growth, permanent tax policies that expand opportunity for more Americans."
