Governor Hassan's Statement on Signing SB 246

Statement

Governor Maggie Hassan issued the following statement after today signing SB 246, a measure relative to penalties for speeding:

"In order to keep New Hampshire one of the safest states in the nation, it is important that we continue to find ways to improve the safety of our roads. By redefining speeding in excess of 100 miles per hour as reckless driving and thus subjecting offenders to a more stringent penalty, this bipartisan legislation helps advance that goal. I thank Senator Gilmour and legislators from both parties for their efforts to make our roads safer."
