Unions are in trouble -- in Kansas alone, teachers unions have been attacked, due process has been stripped, and tenure has been removed.
These are but the first steps on a path that ends in the elimination of collective bargaining. Strong unions ensure good jobs, with good benefits, and good salaries and wages. Kansas needs someone in Washington who understands when unions benefit, workers benefit, and our economy benefits.
In the course of our great nation, unions are the reason we have an 8 hour workday, child labor laws, pensions, and the minimum wage. Our senior senator does not seem to understand that those working at $7.25/hr for 40 hours a week are still under-employed, making just above the poverty level, and lacking job security and benefits. I will stand with labor.
