Pat Roberts understands the importance of the aviation industry to our economy, employing more than 22,000 Kansans. As a senior member of the Senate Finance Committee, his tested leadership has repeatedly blocked user fees, taxes and proposed regulations that would harm the aviation industry and cost Kansas jobs. He is a tough proponent of free and fair trade for aviation manufacturers in Wichita and the suppliers that stretch across the state employing tens of thousands of Kansans. When President Obama tried to denigrate general aviation as "fat-cat corporate jets," Pat Roberts stood toe to toe with him and called him out for disparaging an industry that is "made in America."
