Minimum Wage

The current minimum wage in North Carolina is $7.25 and we can all agree that $7.25 is not a livable wage. It is a matter of fairness and good economics that everyone who works full-time should enjoy a livable wage. Adequate compensation not only increases workers' job satisfaction, but decreases turnover making business run more efficiently. In addition, the extra dollars in workers' pockets lead to increases in economic activity as they have more disposable income to pump into the economy. Lastly, a livable wage places less stress on the state's budget as tax revenues increase and less stress is placed on state services.
