Issue Position

Working families are under attack from Washington DC. Their paychecks are shrinking and politicians in Congress are taking an ax to Medicare, Social Security and education funding while maintaining tax breaks for the wealthy.

That's not right. In Congress, I'll never balance our budget on the backs of the middle class. We must work together to create good paying jobs and provide opportunity to working families in Kansas.

I'll honor the promise we've made to our seniors and never cut Social Security & Medicare. I'll work to help small businesses grow instead of adding to their uncertainty by shutting down the government, costing taxpayers billions, over political fights. I want to help our returning veterans find jobs when they come back home. And I think it's been too long since workers got a raise and believe it's time we raised the minimum wage.

I believe we can make our economy stronger and the middle class can thrive in Kansas. We must provide opportunities like good paying jobs, a strong education system and a dignified retirement.
