- Build salt water desalinization plants to produce fresh water suitable for human consumption or irrigation.
- Employ Floridians, including Polk and Osceola County residents, to build, maintain and operate these systems.

Polk and Osceola Counties historically have been heavily invested in agriculture. It is still a major industry in our Counties today. However, its continued success will depend greatly on the management of Florida's water resources. Of major concern is the accelerated rate our State population is draining the Florida aquifer. For us to secure our agricultural future (we all need to eat) and to enable Florida's population to continue to grow and flourish, we must find alternative sources of water. In this, we have the advantage…we are surrounded on three sides by oceans. We just need to build the water treatments plants and delivery systems to make it usable for human consumption. Now we can have the best of two worlds…secure our water resources while creating new jobs. Already the City of Tampa acquires over 50% of its water from the waters of the Gulf. This is a most viable solution and can be done.
