Issue Position: How Can we Create Jobs and Ensure the Health of Our Small Communities in West-Central Minnesota?

Issue Position

Date: Jan. 1, 2014

The answer is not complicated. We need less taxes and regulations. This past year the Tax Foundation in Washington D.C. rated Minnesota as the fourth worst state for business growth. Other studies consistently place us well behind our Dakota neighbors and Wisconsin in job growth opportunities. We have a great state with incredible resources. There is no reason we should not be surpassing our neighbors economically.
A second problem we have is that almost all policies passed by our state government benefit the Twin Cities and not out-state Minnesota. Our small businesses cannot be profitable with all the burdens placed on them by our government. My pledge is to be tenacious in creating legislation beneficial to my district rather the Minneapolis/St. Paul metro region.
