Dahle votes for in support of SB 630

September 6, 2013

Assemblyman Brian Dahle votes in support of SB 630, the Tahoe Regional Planning Agency (TRPA) compromise to protect Lake Tahoe and answer the needs of constituents.

DAHLE STATEMENT

"I was pleased to vote in support of SB 630 and ratify the Tahoe Regional Planning Agency compromise. This bill was very closely negotiated with Nevada and reflects agreement between the two states. In particular, Nevada dropped its threat to withdraw from the compact and on the Senate side here California dropped its threat to re-establish a separate agency. This is a bipartisan bill. The compromise means that TRPA will more carefully consider economics in the region, and this has always been long-term complaint by landowners and local governments.
The bill also contains a provision important to both states that will improve budget transparency of TRPA so that both states know where their dollars are going."
