Issue Position

With agriculture being Michigan's second largest industry, farmers play a significant role in our state's economy. Farmers are some of the best conservationists in our society and their very livelihood depends on the land which they manage.

I have maintained a 100% voting record with Michigan's Farm Bureau and was proud to co-sponsor legislation to give our students, parents and schools more flexibility in education so that more vocational programs can be offered to our youth. As agriculture approaches being a $100 billion industry in Michigan, more skilled labor will be crucial for our state. I'm proud to work with my colleagues to make vocational programs in schools a reality.
