After days of severe weather caused storm damage and flooding around the First District, Rep. Bruce Braley (IA-01) today viewed the conditions first hand in Waterloo and Anamosa.

"Growing up and raising a family in Iowa, I've seen time and time again the kind of devastation flooding can cause in our communities," Braley said. "My thoughts are with those affected, and I plan to do everything possible to ensure that Iowa has the resources to deal with recent weather events."

Recent flooding and severe weather has overwhelmed roads, bridges, and caused damage to homes and businesses across Iowa. Iowans affected can visit Braley's website at braley.house.gov to get help from Braley's staff, and read what state and local resources are available to them. Braley's staff can also be reached for help by calling 319-364-2288.

In March, Braley called on members of the Conference Committee on the Water Resources Development Act to quickly pass the bill to help Iowa communities get the infrastructure improvements they need to protect their communities from flooding.
