Issue Position

Taking the oath of office is the most the important part of the job for any elected official. Pledging to uphold the Constitution and protect the God-given rights granted to Americans within is a serious charge. But the federal government continues to encroach on the rights of law-abiding citizens if left unchecked. Whether it's the IRS ignoring the 1st Amendment and targeting political groups based on political beliefs, or federal agencies obtaining personal information without probable cause or warrant, Elise will be a steadfast supporter of the Constitution and will always protect the rights and freedoms of New Yorkers.

Elise is a staunch supporter of the 2nd Amendment and strongly opposes the NY SAFE Act. The deeply flawed legislation only leaves law-abiding New Yorkers in more danger of criminals breaking the law in the first place. Elise is a gun owner, a card-carrying member of the National Rifle Association, and will strongly oppose legislation and executive actions that infringe on the 2nd Amendment rights of law-abiding citizens.
