Issue Position

Integrity means keeping our commitment to veterans. Our solders committed to defending the Constitution and our country against all enemies with their lives if necessary. We have a commitment to support them when they return from this mission. We're not doing that. There is still a massive backlog of benefit claims for veterans in need. Recent numbers show that nearly 700,000 veterans are waiting for claims to be processed - with an average wait time of over 10 months! The system used to process these claims is not even computerized. Bills are introduced to improve veteran's access to health care, education, and job training, areas of need that everyone agrees to. Yet, because of gridlock, nothing gets passed. These brave men and women have done their duty for their country and its time our country follows through with our duty to them. It's time to get Congress working again, right this wrong, and help our vets!
