Today, Alison Lundergan Grimes released the following statement to mark the 70th anniversary of D-Day:

"Today I join Kentuckians across the Commonwealth in thankful reflection and prayer upon the 70th anniversary of D-Day -- the Normandy landings that led to the liberation of Western Europe from Nazi tyranny. This solemn occasion is a vivid reminder of how much all Americans owe the valiant men and women who have served this country and fought our battles whenever our freedoms have been threatened."
