Johnson Comments on 1st Quarter Growth Report

Statement

Date: June 25, 2014
Location: Washington, DC

Senator Johnson made the following remarks on recently released 1st quarter growth numbers:

"President Obama, Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi have spent little energy the past five years on the American economy. They spent their efforts expanding the size and scope of government. New figures show our economy contracted nearly 3% in the first quarter -- the worst economic performance in five years. President Obama and his Democrat allies in Congress should give up on their failed economic policies and instead work with Republicans to actually grow the economy by making America an attractive place for new investment, business creation and expansion, and new job creation. Bigger government and a smaller economy doesn't work. It never will."
