U.S. Senator Tim Kaine released the following statement on Senate passage of the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA):

"I'm proud to support the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act, a bipartisan, bicameral piece of legislation that streamlines the nation's workforce development system," said Kaine. "By allowing states like Virginia the flexibility to better tailor programs to meet real employment and workforce demands, we can strengthen the economy and train Virginians with the skills they need to get good jobs at companies ready to hire them."

In the Senate, and as Governor, Kaine has led efforts to grow a talented workforce through improved education and workforce development. In January, Kaine co-founded the Senate Career and Technical Education (CTE) Caucus to increase access to CTE programs and ensure that students of all ages are prepared with the skills they need for the jobs of the 21st century.
