Issue Position: The Experience to Support Jobs, Capitalism, and Free-Enterprise

Issue Position

Congress needs to create a pro-growth, economic environment that fosters the creation of jobs.

It is essential we rebuild the foundations of America's economy based on the principles of free enterprise, hard work, and innovation.

I will work to reduce taxes, spending, and unnecessary regulation and government programs, while at the same time supporting efforts to increase trade, energy production, human capital, and labor flexibility.

Job creators need a tax code that is permanent, fair, and understandable.

Job creators need federal bureaucrats to get off their backs.

Job creators need a federal government that doesn't spend, borrow, and inflate its way to bankruptcy.

Small businesses continue to see their health care costs increase year after year (which will only get worse under ObamaCare), making it even more difficult for them to create jobs. I strongly support the repeal of the trillion dollar government takeover of health care, and support replacing it with reforms that will actually lower the cost of health care while improving quality.

I support:

Significantly reducing the capital gains tax (and eventually eliminating it altogether) to make American entrepreneurs more competitive with those in other countries;
Dramatically reducing the corporate income tax;
Allowing for 100% expensing of new equipment to spur innovation and American manufacturing; and,
Ending the death tax permanently.

I will lead on legislation to remove obstacles to job creation:

Repealing the Sarbanes-Oxley Act, which has not worked as envisioned, and actually has made it more difficult for corporations to operate effectively;
Repealing the Community Reinvestment Act, which figured significantly in the mortgage crisis that hit us in 2008;
Repealing the Dodd-Frank Law;
Breaking up Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac; and,
Dramatically scaling back and reforming the EPA, which has become a job-killing regulatory monster.
I have the experience to support getting Washington D.C. out of the way so we can have better jobs, with better pay, and more take-home money for you and your family. I have done it before and will do it again.
