Salt River Project and the cities of Prescott and Prescott Valley have come together in a responsible manner to protect the stream flow of the Upper Verde River. This means that the two cities will mitigate their water use from the Big Chino Sub-Basin to assure protection of stream flow to the river. This agreement means that funding, creation, and implementation of a Big Chino Sub-Basin ground water flow model can now proceed which will allow us to better understand the impact the proposed Big Chino Pipeline by the city of Prescott.
