Issue Position: Local Jobs & Economic Growth

Issue Position

It is vital to the future of our country -- and for the well-being of local residents -- that we keep our economy growing and make it easier for businesses to create jobs. Under the current Administration, small and large businesses struggle to invest in their own growth and new employees because of uncertainty and fear of new regulations or taxes. Restoring confidence and stability in our economy requires a new direction: cutting red-tape, simplifying our tax code, and replacing the health care law. A pro-growth economic vision requires other important public policy priorities, like investing in a 21st century education system that empowers America's future workforce. Making energy clean, abundant and American-made will lower prices, stabilize markets and grow our economy. We have to reform our broken immigration system so that the science, technology and math students who come from abroad to learn in our colleges and universities have the opportunity to stay, invest and create jobs after they graduate, rather than being forced to leave and compete against us with companies overseas. We can and have to do better for the millions of families struggling to find work, care for their kids and save for retirement.
