Bobby Schilling released the following statement in response to the Supreme Court's decision to strike down the overall limit on campaign giving in an election cycle:
"Free speech is free speech and it should be protected. I support today's Supreme Court decision because I believe government shouldn't be picking winners and losers, and it shouldn't be attacking First Amendment rights.
"Congresswoman Bustos plays both sides on this issue--she publicly opposes Super PAC spending, but she happily takes their support. My opponent said nothing last month when a liberal Washington, D.C. Super PAC spent $124,000 on TV commercials saying nice things about her. She said nothing last cycle when the House Majority PAC spent $600,000 on vicious attack ads against me--until after the election, when she did a fundraising commercial for them to thank them for their support."
